All Competitive Mode Changes in Marvel Rivals Season 2
There are some major changes coming to Competitive, including:
- Increasing the minimum level requirement from 10 to 15.
- Pick/Ban starts at Gold III rank, down from Diamond tier.
- When a team includes players from Eternity or One Above All, only duo queuing will be allowed.
- Individual performance now has a greater weight on points you earn (and lose) per Competitive match.
How Does Rank Reset Work in Competitive Mode Season 2?
Before diving into the rank reset let us look at all the nine Marvel Rivals and how the competitive mode works in the game:
Rank | Tier |
---|---|
Bronze (III, II, I) | ![]() |
Silver (III, II, I) | ![]() |
Gold (III, II, I) | ![]() |
Platinum (III, II, I) | ![]() |
Diamond (III, II, I) | ![]() |
Grandmaster (III, II, I) | ![]() |
Celestial (III, II, I) | ![]() |
Eternity (Single Tier) | ![]() |
One Above All (Top 500 Players) | ![]() |
The Marvel Rivals ranking system uses a points-based progression method. For most ranks (Bronze through Celestial), you'll need to work through three divisions per rank - starting at division III, then II, and finally I.
Advancing through the competitive mode ladder requires earning 100 points to move up one division. Now that you are aware of all the ranks, here is how ranked reset works in the current Marvel Rivals season 2 competitive mode:
- All players will drop 9 competitive divisions. For example, if you're in Diamond I, you'll drop to Silver I.
- The current Rank distribution has also been revealed below (excluding players not participating in Competitive mode).
- The mid-Season rank reset was scrapped during Season 1 after community feedback but may be reintroduced with Season 2.
