As a Marvel fan and avid Marvel Rivals player, I couldn't be more excited about the recent leaks suggesting that Deadpool will be joining the roster soon. After spending countless hours playing as various heroes and villains, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the Merc with a Mouth’s arrival. Based on compelling evidence, it seems that day is coming sooner rather than later. In this piece, I will predict his abilities, role, and how he will impact gameplay based on the leaks.
Marvel Rivals Deadpool Leaks
The recent voice line leaks from RivalsLeaks on X seem pretty convincing. Spider-Man's line about "the loosest cannon" joining the battle is a dead giveaway - who else could he be referring to but Deadpool?
This isn't the only clue I've noticed. Players have already received a Deadpool-specific nameplate as a free reward in Marvel Snap, which feels like an intentional cross-promotion. Plus, with the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024, it would be a missed opportunity not to include Wade Wilson in the game, especially since we already have an MCU-inspired Wolverine outfit available in the game.
Deadpool Abilities and Role Prediction
While there is no leaked information about his abilities or role, based on his comic and movie lore, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Deadpool introduced as a Duelist in Marvel Rivals. How could he not? He wields dual pistols and katanas—what would a Vanguard or Strategist do with those?

I’ve been thinking about how Deadpool might fit into the game’s existing framework. His kit could revolve around these key elements:
- Twin Pistols: His primary ranged attack would likely feature his signature guns.
- Katanas: For close-quarter combat, his swords would be essential. I'm hoping for some quick, devastating melee attacks that reward aggressive play.
- Healing Factor: Deadpool without regeneration just wouldn't be Deadpool. I expect he'll have some form of passive healing ability.
Based on his goofy and absurd nature in the comics, Deadpool’s abilities in Marvel Rivals should reflect that same level of chaotic humor. His skill set could include:
- Teleportation
- Explosives (Grenades and Bazookas appearing out of nowhere)
- Fourth-wall breaking mechanics
It makes perfect sense for Deadpool to bring absurdity into the game, like pulling a bazooka from his back out of nowhere or summoning random items. This ability could be used to deal damage, stun enemies, or apply debuffs, such as slower movement or reduced defense for a short duration.

Now, the fourth-wall breaking mechanic is something I’d love to see Marvel Rivals implement. While it’s highly unlikely, it would be hilarious if one of his skills allowed him to break the fourth wall—maybe as an ultimate, where his face pops up on the enemy’s screen, blocking their view in a ridiculous way. It would perfectly capture his meta-humor and make him one of the most entertaining heroes in the game.
Deadpool Gameplay Prediction
His twin pistols should function similarly to Winter Soldier’s gun, but with a higher fire rate and lower base damage. This would be a balanced way to implement Deadpool’s dual pistols while maintaining his fast-paced combat style. His katanas should serve as his melee attack, potentially doubling as a dashing or defensive skill for mobility and survivability.

His healing factor is a must—it’s Deadpool, after all. However, it shouldn’t be overpowered to the point where he doesn’t need support from a Strategist, as that would break the game.
Instead, he could have a passive healing effect that restores a small amount of health per hit—around 10% per hit taken. Unlike damage reduction, this would require 1–2 seconds for the healing to take effect rather than immediately reducing damage, making it more balanced while still fitting his regenerative abilities.
This way, Deadpool would be a Duelist capable of engaging in team fights or flanking the enemy backline, making him a versatile and unpredictable threat. It would be a perfect way to implement a mercenary into the game, staying true to his chaotic and adaptable combat style.
These are all predictions, speculations, and hopeful wishes based on the leaks that have surfaced. What do you think? Would you love to see Deadpool bring his humorous and chaotic gameplay to Marvel Rivals, or do you think it’s time for him to be serious and normal for once?
