Marvel Rivals is adding a fun new twist to its gameplay with the Giant-Size Brain Blast mode arriving with the patch on April 25. This special event will transform your favorite Marvel heroes into bobblehead-style characters with oversized heads while offering free rewards. Let's take a look at what Giant-Size Brain Blast Mode has to offer and how you can get your hands on some limited-time rewards.
Note: We will keep updating this article as new official information comes out about the Giant-Size Brain Blast event.
How to Play Giant-Size Brain Blast
The Giant-Size Brain Blast mode is now live! In this event, players are divided into teams of two, though your individual performance will still count towards the character-specific leaderboards (win or lose).
- Game Objective: Your team needs to score 50 points to win the match. The first team to reach this claims victory.
- Match Duration: Each match lasts nearly 4 minutes. If no team reaches 50 points within this time limit, the team with the highest score wins.
- Map: Tokyo 2099 Ninomaru
- Team Composition: You cannot play duplicate heroes on the same team.
The most notable change is that you can hit headshots with the characters you normally wouldn't be able to!
All Giant-Size Brain Blast Mode Rewards
There are two main rewards you can get from playing this mode.
Emote Rewards

Reward | How to Get It |
---|---|
Brain Blast Emote | Play 10 rounds |
The free Brain Blast emote is pretty straightforward to get - just play 10 rounds during the event. The tricky part is deciding which character to give it to. You can only pick one, and you can't change your mind later. Maybe give it to your favorite character, or one you think would be extra funny with it.
Note: You can also get these Brain Blast Emotes with 400 units each within the game store.
Title Rewards

Reward | How to Get It |
---|---|
Planet Sized Brain | Top 10 on leaderboard |
Monster Sized Brain | Top 100 on the leaderboard |
Giant Sized Brain | Top 500 on the leaderboard |
For titles, the game tracks how well players do with each character during the event. Every character has their own leaderboard, and your ranking on these leaderboards determines which rewards you get. If you rank high enough with a character, you'll get the corresponding title for that character.
This means you might want to focus on getting really good with just one or two heroes to have a better chance at ranking in the top spots. Since each character has a separate leaderboard, you could potentially earn multiple titles if you perform well with different characters
Both these rewards are only available during the event. Once it's over, you won't be able to get them anymore. So if you collect everything in the game, you'll want to make sure you play during this event.
When Does Giant-Size Brain Blast Mode Start and End?
According to the official patch notes, Giant-Size Brain Blast will be available during two specific time windows:
- First window: April 25, 2025 (09:00:00 UTC) to April 28, 2025 (12:00:00 UTC)
- Second window: May 2, 2025 (09:00:00 UTC) to May 5, 2025 (12:00:00 UTC)
This confirms what we suspected from the trailer - the event will indeed run in phases, with each phase lasting about 3 days. The "Round Ends" countdown we spotted in the trailer was referring to these limited-time windows.
If you play Marvel Rivals, this event gives you a chance to see your favorite heroes with big heads and earn some exclusive rewards. Remember to get your 10 rounds in to earn that emote, and try to rank high if you want a special title.
