Lore
Wind roared, lightning crackled, and Jeff the Land Shark stood right in the middle of the storm! They say a shark shouldn't walk on land, but Jeff shreds that theory faster than Wolverine shreds foes. Now, he craved a new kind of thrill in this tempest. As her hurricane surged, a smile played on Ororo's lips. Despite she and this creature not having the best introduction, who was she to deny a simple creature a simple pleasure?
"Don’t you fear, little one." her voice as calm as a summer breeze. With the raising of her hand, Jeff lifted higher and higher. Storm’s time in the Sanctuary gave her much practice nurturing the small, but Jeff did not need protection like the other animals in her care. He responded with a wide-mouthed smile, as if to say he wasn't afraid; he would ride the wind just like her!
In that swirling chaos, no one could tell where Ororo’s hurricane ended and Jeff's insatiable appetite began. This new assistant was a tad mischievous but surprisingly…reliable. Storm chuckled with a devious grin. For starting now, the tornado had teeth.
Jeff-Nado Guide
SHARKNADO, or in this case, Jeff-Nado, is a new Team-Up ability introduced in the Season 2.5 update of Marvel Rivals. This Team-Up combines Storm and Jeff’s ultimates into a devastating tornado that damages enemies and then swallows whoever pulled in.
By activating Jeff’s ultimate directly under Storm’s hurricane, Jeff will passively follow the hurricane's movement. The hurricane pulls enemies into its center, and with Jeff inside, he can swallow anyone caught in the middle.
Instead of instantly swallowing enemies within the AoE, Jeff takes on a supporting role, finishing off weakened enemies and then spitting them out in a chosen direction.
The best way to utilize this Team-Up is when there are cliffs or ledges nearby, allowing Jeff to spit enemies off the map. It’s especially effective when contesting a hard point or pushing through a tight choke point.
While this Team-Up may seem devastating at first, it can also be a double-edged sword. Jeff might accidentally swallow enemies who would have otherwise been eliminated by the tornado, effectively saving them from their demise, only to spit them out, which doesn't guarantee a kill.
Additionally, Jeff must be perfectly positioned right where Storm’s ultimate is deployed, meaning timing and positioning are absolutely crucial.
Because of this, the Team-Up requires strong communication and coordination to be truly effective, especially in competitive matches, where every second and decision counts.
Best Against
This Team-Up works best against heavy Vanguards, Duelists, and Strategists who lack strong mobility options:
- Emma Frost, Groot, Magneto, and Peni Parker are all strong Capture Point or choke point defenders who are typically difficult to dislodge. However, Jeff-Nado can quickly break through their defenses, dealing heavy damage and even throwing them off the map if they survive the initial burst.
- The Punisher, Winter Soldier, and Wolverine are Duelists with limited mobility, making them easy targets for this Team-Up ability.
- In general, Strategists are ideal targets for Jeff-Nado, with Loki and Adam Warlock being especially vulnerable due to their lack of reliable escape options.
- Invisible Woman’s ultimate tends to group all her teammates within her circular barrier, creating the perfect opportunity for Jeff-Nado to target clustered enemy players.
Best Counters
- Hulk and The Thing are the perfect Vanguards to counter Jeff-Nado. Both have strong mobility skills, and The Thing is immune to displacement, meaning he cannot be thrown by Jeff’s ability.
- Hela and Scarlet Witch both have escape abilities, allowing them to easily evade the Team-Up.
- Human Torch, Iron Man, and Star-Lord are flying heroes who can quickly scatter when Jeff-Nado is activated, making them difficult to catch.
- Cloak & Dagger can counter this combo by using Cloak’s Dark Teleportation to rescue teammates caught in the tornado. Additionally, Jeff cannot swallow Luna Snow while her ultimate is active, giving her a reliable counterplay option.
