Marvel Rivals Captain Marvel Leaks: Abilities, Role & Gameplay Prediction

Your guide to Captain Marvel in Marvel Rivals.

Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, has been leaked as a future addition to Marvel Rivals' roster in an upcoming update. While no leaked skills have surfaced, we can predict what kind of hero Captain Marvel will be and how her gameplay might unfold.

Captain Marvel Voice Line Leak

Trusted dataminer X0XLeaks has revealed a leak containing possible voice lines for Carol Danvers, better known as Captain Marvel. These voice lines strongly hint at her introduction as a playable hero in future updates.

The leaked voice lines can be heard from Captain America:

  • "She was one hell of a soldier."
  • "Not too shabby, Danvers."

While the first voice line is somewhat ambiguous and could refer to other characters, the second one is more direct, clearly mentioning "Danvers."

Additional leaked voice lines from other characters further support this speculation:

  • “I could do that if I had binary energy.”Hawkeye
  • “Nice work, Captain. Or is it Colonel?”Punisher

These lines directly reference Captain Marvel, as she possesses binary energy and held the rank of Colonel at a specific point in her timeline.

Captain Marvel Abilities & Role Prediction

Carol Danvers is basically a superhuman powerhouse with an incredible range of abilities. She can fly at mind-blowing speeds through space, absorb and manipulate different types of energy, and shoot powerful photon blasts from her hands or eyes. Her body is incredibly tough - she can survive bullets, extreme temperatures, and even the vacuum of space without breaking a sweat.

Her strength is off the charts. She can lift over 100 tons and has been known to knock out incredibly powerful beings. When she's really charged up, her strength can become practically unlimited. She also heals faster than a normal human and can survive without food, water, or even breathing.

The coolest part? She started as a human-Kree hybrid who was transformed by alien experiments, giving her these amazing cosmic abilities. She's considered one of the most powerful beings in the universe, with the potential to absorb and redirect incredible amounts of energy to boost her already impressive powers.

Based on that, Captain Marvel seems more suited as a Vanguard rather than a Duelist. While she can deal significant damage, her strength would likely benefit the team more.

Her potential kit could include:

  • Heavy punches as her basic attack.
  • Photon Blast as her secondary attack—a short-to-mid-range energy blast.
  • Free flight for enhanced mobility.
  • Energy barrier for defense.
  • Energy absorption as her ultimate ability.

Captain Marvel Gameplay Prediction

With this kit, she would function as an offensive Vanguard, similar to Thor. What makes her particularly interesting is her ultimate, which could revolve around energy absorption, a key aspect of her abilities.

Her ultimate could work similarly to Magneto’s, but instead of absorbing projectiles and launching them back as a bomb, Captain Marvel could absorb any incoming damage or enemy abilities and convert them into increased damage and speed for a short period. This would make her a formidable presence on the battlefield, capable of turning enemy attacks into her own strength.

This ability kit could serve as a great counter to burst damage heroes like The Punisher and Wolverine, as her energy absorption ultimate would mitigate their high-damage attacks. Additionally, her free flight would allow her to chase airborne enemies such as Storm and the newly added Human Torch, making her a strong anti-air option.

However, to maintain balance, her damage output should be lower than that of Duelists. If she dealt as much damage as a Duelist while having Vanguard-level durability and utility, she would be too overpowered—just like in the comics.

These are all my predictions based on leaks and lore. What do you think? Would you prefer her as a Duelist or a Vanguard?
