Emma Frost can form a mental link with Magneto and Psylocke, calling on her to create illusory projections. When together, Emma Frost will create a Mental Projection of Magneto and Psylocke, forming a Duplicate Illusion in the enemy's perspective that confuses foes by moving and casting abilities on its own.

Mental Projection Guide
In the Mental Projection Team-Up ability, Emma Frost works as the anchor, which grants Psylocke and Magneto the ability to form an illusion of themselves.
The illusion mirrors what Psylocke or Magneto does, which is really confusing for enemies to fight. The best part is that the illusions deal 100% damage! This is crazily good, and Psylocke and Magneto are the perfect characters to utilize this.
Psylocke
While Psylocke loses the Team-Up ability with Magik, where the portal is often used for a more runaway tactic, this Mental Projection is more offensive.
The best way to use it with Psylocke is when you are flanking multiple enemy backliners. The illusion not only confuses them but also deals double damage. So if you are precise with the hits, you can actually kill 2 Strategists, or even 3 in one combo sequence.
The best combo is to go to their backline, try to do a kill-guaranteed combo to a single target, then immediately pop your illusion to finish off the others or to strategically reposition or retreat.
Try to move in an "8" figure while your illusion is activated. This means the illusion will move against you if you move sideways, creating even more confusion for the enemies.
However, the illusion will not mimic your ultimate. One Psylocke ultimate is scary enough.
Magneto
Magneto loses the deadly Metallic Chaos Team-Up with Scarlet Witch. While it's sad news, the new Mental Projection Team-Up is really a good trade-off for that.
Instead of being aggressively offensive, with the illusion, Magneto can become an even harder tank to go up against. He can double his shield and also double the damage, making him even more adaptable to any kind of situation.
The best way to use this Team-Up is when you are trying to capture a point or retake a point. Popping the illusion during a team fight will be really beneficial for your team.
If you are a hardcore Magneto player, you definitely need to master the movements to really maximize the potential of your illusion. Keep practicing to know which way the illusion will go if you move in a certain way. This way, you can keep your teammates alive even when they are not close to you.
The same as Psylocke, Magneto's illusion cannot mimic his ultimate.
Best Against
This Team-Up is best against projectile-heavy and healer-heavy teams.
- For Psylocke, this Team-Up is best against a team with 3 healers or a team with a lot of backliners.
- For Magneto, this Team-Up is best against projectile-heavy teams with characters like The Punisher, Moon Knight, or Hawkeye.
Best Counters
These characters are the best counters to the Mental Projection Team-Up ability:
Peni Parker can keep her backlines safe by placing Arachno Mines. She can also stun Psylocke if she tries to keep moving to confuse your team.
The Thing can quickly get back to the backline using his leap, then smash away until the illusion is gone. The Thing can counter-annoy Psylocke when she tries to flank.
Human Torch has really good AoE abilities. With his Pyro Prison and AoE lava, he can trap Psylocke or Magneto to limit their movements.
Magik is a good AoE hero and a good chaser. Just keep chasing and focus on one target—either the illusion or the real one. She can burst down a target and quickly kill the illusion, or if lucky, the real one.
Namor and Loki are the best heroes to deal with flankers. Using Namor's minion or Loki's Regeneration Domain, they can counter Psylocke’s flank attempts—with or without the illusion.
