Strategy
Lock Down Characters
If you want a strategy that is about keeping opponents away from an objective, there are three great characters you can pick from. As featured in the reveal trailer, Namor is a great option. For 6 players to throw 2 Octopus turrets each, you will have a constant barrage of auto-aiming bullets hitting your opponents. Good luck to any opponents who attempt to run onto the objective.
Peni Parker can create absolute chaos on the battlefield. She can have up to 15 mines active at a time, not including her Spider-nest. Now multiple those mines and Spider-nests... that's an incredible amount of damage your team can pollute the field with. You will all have your web net as well, so you can constantly web up opponents who may evade the mines easier. Since the mines become invisible with a web on top of them, your team can literally cover every inch of an objective with webs and mines. And the great part about webs? They heal you as you stand on them! So your team can constantly get heals without any healers around.
If you want a more Fortnite approach to the mode, your team can use Groot! You can completely wall in an objective, opponent, or even the enemy spawn! His Ironwood wall has 800 hp, giving you an incredible amount of damage needed to break through an area. If your opponent doesn't pick a character that can quickly dish out damage, they will have a hard time breaking through.
Evasive Options
With your team being restricted to one character, you can't make a reasonable team comp with healers and tanks to protect you. If you pick evasive characters though, you won't even need that healing or protection. Spider-Man is the most obvious example. You can swing into or out of an objective and deal quick bursts of damage. With likely no healers around, you can widdle the opponent's health down as your team constantly bombards them. In a similar fashion, Black Panther can already make your opponent's head spin, so your entire team Dashing around will be a real headache.
Venom is the tank version of Spider-Man, letting you quickly jump in and out of target areas. His healing ability gives you an extended health bar so you can secure kills, and then have enough time to escape. If your team ults together, you can each cut opponent's health in half, which will add up very quickly. The ult also gives you bonus health, giving you even more survivability.
Iron Fist will be the king of evasiveness and self-healing. Any experienced player knows Iron Fist can be a real nuisance if they know his kit. Now put 6 of them together and you have the equivalent of a nest of hornets chasing you around. If you take any damage, simply use your self-heal ability and recharge.
Survival Strategy
Marvel Rivals have given Strategists a significant amount of firepower to go with their healing. There are a few characters in particular that could hold their own in a fight without the need of a tank or dps to help them. Adam Warlock is a great example. He has one of the highest damage outputs of any Strategist, giving him plenty of opportunities to lock in kills. While his healing is good, his soul bond ability could be game breaking. If all 6 warlocks constantly rotate their soul bond abilities, how exactly do you kill a team with a united health bar? And even if you kill some of them, they will each get a team revive to keep them going non-stop. Edit: Adam Warlock is banned from the mode.
If you want less coordination and more annoyance, let Jeff the Land Shark be your team character. DPS Jeff is already a known term in the game, so why not take advantage of it? Deal constant damage, then dive underground to heal and reposition for another attack. If opponents are grouped together, use your ultimate to take them all off the map. Your entire team can also litter the battlefield with his healing bubbles, making it even harder to kill you.
For your chaotic option, you can use Loki. 6 characters with a clones each makes 18 Lokis your opponent has to put up with. It's like Namor, but manual instead of automatic. His immortality field will effectively give non-stop healing when combined with your team. If you get into any danger, simply vanish and run to a health pack (or wait for your ability to recharge. Edit: Loki is banned from the mode.
Ultimate Victory
As a final tactic your team can use, pick characters that have amazing ultimates. We're talking ultimates that are good without your team's help, so characters like Doctor Strange, Groot, and Thing don't make the cut here. We're talking about someone like Winter Soldier. I don't think I have much to say that you don't already know. He has a good kit with some armor generation, but his ultimate is ridiculous. You and your team constantly yelling "AGAIN" will make your opponent's surrender simply to make that voiceline stop, let alone the constant damage.
Storm may be vulnerable in the air, but she can still pack a punch. It's unclear if her damage aura stacks with your team to give exponential buffs, but if they do, and group of storms will be a hurricane together. Combo this with constant tornados dropping right on top of opponents and you may never have to worry about being vulnerable in the air.
LEGENDARY! Of course Star-Lord makes the cut here. He has damage output, evasiveness, and an AOE attack to finish off evasive opponents. A team full of auto-aiming, rapid-fire ultimates is an easy way to lock in a bunch of kills.
