Season 2.5 Ranked Rewards – Golden Ultron Skin

Season 2.5 is almost here, and as usual, there will be rewards for players who reach a certain rank in the season. In the mid-season update, players will have a new skin to hunt for by playing Competitive. There will be no rank reset so players can still earn rewards before the season ends on July 11, 2025! Let's take a look at the details.

Golden Ultron Ranked Reward

The ranked reward for Season 2.5 is an Uncommon skin for Ultron: Golden Ultron. This skin changes Ultron's appearance from the basic metallic into a golden form. It's such a great freebie because players can earn it for free by playing Competitive.

How to Get Golden Ultron Skin

To be able to claim the Golden Ultron skin, players need to reach at least Gold Rank in Season 2.5. Players will also need to complete 10 Competitive matches to be able to get this free skin. If you have already reached Gold Rank before Season 2.5 starts, you only need to play Competitive 10 times to be eligible to claim the Golden Ultron skin. Furthermore, there will be no rank reset.

Once players have reached Gold Rank and played at least 10 matches of Competitive, the Golden Ultron skin will be automatically sent to their account when Season 3 starts, which will be on July 11, 2025, based on the calculation of the usual update timing.

Season 2 Ranked Reward

If you're wondering what happened to the Season 2 ranked reward, the golden-diamond-1053102 Emma Frost skin, worry not, you will receive it at the start of Season 2.5 if you have reached Gold Rank in Season 2. In addition to the skins, you will also receive extra rewards for reaching higher ranks:

  • Grandmaster: Grandmaster Crest of Honor
  • Celestial: Celestial Crest of Honor
  • Eternity: Eternity & One Above All Crest of Honor
  • Top 500: Top 500 Crest of Honor

How to Reach Gold in Season 2.5

If you're having a hard time reaching Gold Rank in Marvel Rivals, here are a few tips and tricks that might help:

  • Learn to play multiple roles. Especially in lower ranks, it's essential to understand how to play all roles, particularly Vanguard and Strategist. Being flexible allows you to fill gaps in your team composition, reduces role conflicts, and increases your chances of winning.
  • Play in a group of 3 or 4. This can make a significant difference compared to playing solo or with a full party. Solo queue often pairs you with random players who may not share the same objectives or playstyle. On the other hand, a full party will likely be matched against another full team, which can be challenging. A 3–4 player party strikes a good balance, improving coordination without raising the difficulty too much.
  • Stay calm, don’t stress over losing streaks. If you're on a bad run, take a break. Play some casual modes, relax, and return to Competitive when you feel ready. A clear mindset can drastically improve performance.
  • Communicate effectively. Communication is key, whether through pinging or voice chat. Strategize with your team, call out enemy positions, and work together to build synergy and secure objectives.
  • Try picking Ultron. As the newest hero introduced mid-season, Ultron’s kit might not be fully balanced yet. New heroes are often slightly overtuned, so take advantage of his current strength. Pick Ultron and see the magic happen.

That’s everything you need to know about the Season 2.5 ranked rewards! Good luck climbing the ranks, reach Gold to unlock both the Golden Ultron and Golden Diamond Emma Frost skins!
