This guide contains our rankings for the Support Heroes in Marvel Rivals and, while you can't fairly compare characters between different classes, we are focusing on the Strategist class in this tier list. If you want to see more characters, check out our Vanguard Meta Tier List and Duelist Meta Tier List, where we rank the Tanks and DPS in their own classes!
For any tier list to make sense in this style of game, you need to understand the kind of players this list is designed for. Pro players and casual players will play characters very differently, so their rankings can vastly differ. In these tier lists, we are ranking for high ranking and competitive players, which means Diamond rank and above.

This means a less experienced or new player may have a very different experience playing these higher tier characters, or lower tier might be really good for you. If you are a new or more casual player, the Meta can look very different than at higher competitive levels. For a casual more casual take on the meta, check out our Strategist Casual Tier List!

Season 2 Overview
This is a preliminary update to the tier list based on:
- Balance adjustments for Season 2.
- Changes to Team-Ups for Season 2.
- Win Rate and Pick Rate stats at end of Season 1.5.
- New Season 2 Hero: Emma Frost.
A more full update and more in-depth report will follow shortly after the season starts.
Any low tier ratings for characters doesn't mean the character is outright bad. You can play any character in this game, practice them a bunch, and perform well in a match despite a tier rating.
C Tier
Jeff the Land Shark is the running champion for worst support Hero. While he can be extremely hard to kill, he just lacks versatility with his abilities over other healers. With Namor no longer part of his Team-Up, there's a lot less Luna Snow being played, so Jeff isn't getting that extra ability. His ultimate can be really great for clearing enemies off an objective, but that's in an ideal situation where you get the whole team and don't get hit with a counter ult. The developers have stated Jeff is slated to see some buffs in mid-Season 2.5, so it's clear they agree he isn't great right now. Until we see those changes, Jeff is locked into the bottom tier.
B Tier
Luna Snow is dropping down to B-Tier this season. Luna didn't see any balance updates at the season start, but Namor being out of their old Team-Up makes her notably less impressive. There are other healers that have similar "can't kill the team" ultimates, so she just simply lags behind the other Strategists. She can still be an effective healer though, so she is definitely better than C-Tier.
A Tier
Season 2 comes with nerfs to several healers, all of which are in this tier. Loki only got an increase to his cooldown time for his healing lamp, so he is still plenty strong. The meta shift is his biggest hindrance though. Brawler characters are a big weakness for Loki since you can constantly punch the air until you knock him out of his invisibility. He was much more effective last season when he was facing Doctor Strange, Groot, and Magneto constantly.
Adam Warlock has really jumped in popularity since the start of last season. He is most effective as a 3rd healer since he's arguably a DPS, healer hybrid. With Star-Lord also a very popular pick, Warlock giving him a free revive several times in a match has made the duo soar in popularity. While he could be S-Tier, his Soul Bond got a cooldown nerf, which was a major reason to use him since it's basically a mini-ultimate. His team-revive now also bring allies back at 33% health. This can help out your tanks, but DPS and healers will often start with less health now. The Mantis buffs might make Warlock more popular based solely on the Team-Up, so we may soon see a bump up to S-Tier for Adam.
S Tier
Season 2 has made some significant shifts to the meta with balance changes, and Mantis has moved up to S-Tier thanks to her massive buff. Being able to stack buffs or heals on an ally changes not only her character viability, but also game strategy in general. You can stack Spider-Man or Black Widow with multiple damage buffs to give them a max of a 16 second window to lock in kills without needing a Team-Up or ultimate. If you have good aim and land lots of critical hits, you can get huge rewards by getting to continuously add more healing and buffs to your team, even if they already have some active. With such a powerful shift, it makes her clearly bumped to S-Tier.
Cloak & Dagger have continued their trend as most used healer. The ability to swap between a healers and DPS is highly advantageous for competitive players. Cloak's ability to hide the team behind his veil is especially strong. It can not only give your team an edge in firefights, but it also protects them from a large amount of ultimates! His lock-on attack can help you secure kills against mobile opponents, and Dagger's shots also auto adjust to allies! A coordinated team will also utilize Dagger's health dome much more effectively than the average player. This lets you effectively heal, while also doing lots of damage simultaneously.
Invisible Woman is also continuing her popularity streak, thus holding her spot in S-Tier. Her attacks move through both allies and enemies, allowing her to make impacts at closer range. She lacks long range capabilities, but her invisibility and shield allows her to get in close and protect teammates from afar. Her ultimate ability let's your team not only get massive heals, but it blocks the opposing team in the radius from getting targeted by their healers outside of the radius. Her force pull/push might be her best ability. It can pull opponents off high points, push them off ledges, or deal enough damage to lock in a kill on a fleeing opponent. She also has a powerful Team-Up that affects 3 other characters, so she consistently gets a buff to her healing.
S+ Tier
I don't normally rate characters higher than S Tier, but the Season 2 update has pushed rocket into the best characters in the game. His healing orbs do an incredible amount of healing, especially if you can get them to bounce. If you shoot them towards the ground next to an ally and they bounce up, it's like a constant healing ult. His reworked ultimate is also incredibly strong now, giving your team a healing ult and a small damage boost. Rocket is so good, he needs to be an auto ban in every game unless you plan on using him yourself. I wouldn't be surprised to see a small balance patch that targets Rocket in the near future.
