Afterward, Thor can leap to the spear's explosion point, dealing a second wave of damage to all enemies within range.

Angela's bread-and-butter kit revolves around having two different stances: flight and grounded.

  • When flying, Angela wields her spear, using an impaling skill that pushes enemies caught in her path until she releases them or until the charge bar is depleted.
  • When grounded, Angela switches to her double axe, unleashing viking-like berserk attacks.

In either stance, Angela can form her Ichor into a shield, completely blocking damage until the shield bar is depleted. This skill further solidifies her role as a Vanguard.

Her Ultimate throws a ribbon-wrapped spear onto the ground, dealing AoE damage and binding enemies caught in the area, preventing them from escaping. This opens up possibilities for devastating combo plays—while looking absolutely magnificent in the process.

How to Play Angela

The key to playing Angela is perfecting your timing—when to fly, when to stay grounded, and when to dive. She has very high mobility, making her perfect for quick hit-and-run engagements.

She is an excellent pick to counter enemy teams with multiple flying heroes like Ultron, Iron Man, or Human Torch. Flying heroes have been meta since Season 3.5, and Angela is here to punish them.

Her playstyle is comparable to Blade, who requires precise timing when switching between his shotgun and vampire-powered sword. However, in Angela’s case, the focus is on knowing when to go all-in on offense or when to retreat.

The best way to play her is to first take flight and target enemy fliers who are away from their teammates. When your team is contesting, immediately use Assassin's Charge to impale one or two enemies to make room for your teammates. Make sure to use Divine Judgement and switch to her axes to apply constant pressure.

Since her stance switch has little to no cooldown, it’s best to keep switching to confuse enemies with unpredictable movements.

This ensures you bring huge value for your team, both in the air and on the ground. After all, you are a Vanguard, and your main goal is to protect your teammates.

Positioning

Angela is not a true frontline Vanguard. Think of her as an eagle, watching and waiting for prey from above. Stay out of sight while remaining close enough to support your allies. When you spot isolated enemies, dive in quickly and attempt to eliminate them.

If securing the kill is too difficult or risky, retreat and reposition with her flight ability. Angela excels at poking rather than tanking head-on. However, during team fights, you should still take the frontline role to draw attention and create space for your team.

Ultimate

Her Ultimate is very powerful and excels at immobilizing enemies. Prioritize targeting enemy healers, as her spear binds them and prevents escape, ensuring you can eliminate at least one healer to disrupt enemy pushes.

Another effective way to use her Ultimate is through combo plays. Coordinate with your teammates and aim to bind multiple enemies at once for maximum impact.

Angela Team-Up Ability

Angela joins Season 4 of Marvel Rivals alongside a brand-new Team-Up, Divine Armory. In this Team-Up, Angela acts as the anchor, granting Thor the ability to throw a Thunder Spear that restores Thorforce upon impact. Thor can then leap directly to the point of impact, closing the gap instantly.

This Team-Up is ideal for offensive team compositions, as both Angela and Thor can operate as aggressive Vanguards, applying relentless frontline pressure.

Best Team Composition for Angela

The best heroes to pair with Angela are those who can perform Ultimate combos and enhance her overall offensive capabilities.

Blade, Phoenix, Scarlet Witch, Moon Knight, and Thor are all characters who can execute Ultimate combos with her. Thor, in particular, stands out. With the new Team-Up, his kit is greatly enhanced and capable of dealing significant damage to the enemy team.

Mantis and Rocket Raccoon can also keep Angela alive while providing her with a damage boost, which is a big advantage for an aggressive Vanguard.

How to Counter Angela

Using hitscan heroes is one of the best ways to counter Angela, as she will constantly be flying. Since her movement speed is not very fast, applying consistent hits should not be too difficult.

Luna Snow and Mantis are the best Strategists to counter Angela, thanks to their ability to stun her. She cannot be launched or knocked back, so the only way to stop her while lunging is to freeze her or put her to sleep. Groot’s wall is also an effective tool to block her lunges.
