Marvel Rivals Forge Leak: Abilities, Role & Gameplay Prediction

Recent leaks have revealed some unexpected additions coming to Marvel Rivals, and one of the most surprising is Forge. This iconic mutant has reportedly been found in the game files, suggesting that NetEase is actively working on him as a playable character for a future update. In this article, we’ll break down everything known so far about Forge, his leaked abilities, possible role, and predicted gameplay style.

Who is Forge in Marvel?

Forge is one of those mutants who’s as much a genius as he is powerful. Nicknamed the “Maker,” he’s known for his ability to instantly understand and build any kind of technology. He made his Marvel debut in Uncanny X-Men #184 (May 1984), making him one of the old-school legends.

He played a huge part in setting up the island of Krakoa, the safe haven for mutants. Forge was the brains behind the Cerebro backups that made it possible to bring fallen mutants back to life, pretty fitting, now that Krakoa is a map in Season 2.

Forge is officially classified as an Omega-level mutant and is also a tribal shaman, though opinions on his threat level vary. The agency ONE sees him as a major threat, while Nimrod surprisingly ranks him as low.

His powers let him “see” how machines work on a deeper level, he understands mechanical energy in a way no one else can. Plus, he’s got some serious magical skills too, like spirit sight, opening portals, using souls in spells, and traveling in spirit form like Professor X’s astral projection.

Forge Abilities and Role Leaks

According to the same leak, Forge is expected to be a Strategist, and his abilities have also been teased:

  • Structural Analysis
  • Creative Modification
  • Spirit Realm Walking
  • Limitation-Breaking Modification

There isn’t much solid info about Forge’s abilities yet, but based on names like Structural Analysis and Creative Modification, it wouldn’t be surprising if he ends up as a buffer instead of a direct healer. Instead of directly healing teammates like other healers, he might deploy healing turrets or gadgets.

One of the most intriguing abilities is Spirit Realm Walking. It’s great to see NetEase leaning into Forge’s mystical roots. This sounds like a mobility skill, possibly letting him teleport to a chosen location.

Then there’s Limitation-Breaking Modification, which seems like it could be his ultimate. Judging by his powers and background, it’s probably a buff-based ability, similar to Rocket Raccoon’s. But it might work differently, maybe Forge creates a tech wall that boosts projectile damage for anything that passes through it, like Baptiste’s ultimate in Overwatch 2.

Forge Gameplay Prediction

Based on the leaked abilities, it seems like Forge will serve as a secondary healer, focusing more on buffing teammates than providing heavy healing. He’ll likely need another healer alongside him to truly maximize the team's potential.

Forge’s primary attack will probably be his iconic SMG or pistol. It would be interesting if he had a hit-scan burst attack. While it would likely deal less damage than a Duelist’s, it could be a great way to counter flying heroes.

It makes sense that Forge would deploy healing turrets, and it would be great if he could also deploy debuff turrets. If that’s the case, he could become another anti-flanker Strategist, just like Loki.

If Spirit Realm Walking turns out to be a mobility skill, it would make him harder to target by flankers, as he could quickly teleport to another spot. This makes his kit seem similar to Loki's, at least in terms of mobility and versatility.

Currently, the only Strategists who can buff teammate damage are Rocket Raccoon and Mantis. Rocket, in particular, can deploy a device that amplifies damage within an area of effect. Forge’s ultimate could function similarly, but with a slight twist, perhaps deploying a tech wall that boosts the damage of projectiles that pass through it.

If this prediction holds true, Forge could be a great alternative to Rocket Raccoon as a buffer. He’d work especially well as a secondary Strategist on Capture Point maps, where his abilities would be more effective.

When Will Forge Release?

Forge probably won’t be released anytime soon, likely not until around Season 5. Several other characters are already in development and are more likely to arrive first, such as Ultron in Season 2.5, and Blade or Professor X potentially in Season 3.

Fans are also expecting popular heroes like Jean GreyDeadpool, or Daredevil to be introduced sooner than Armor or other recently leaked characters. Of course, these are just predictions, so take them with a grain of salt.

So that’s everything we know about Forge so far. What do you think? Are you as excited as I am to see this classic mutant in the game? As an X-Men fan, I’m definitely hyped about this leak!
