Marvel Rivals Vanguard mains have something to be excited about! Recent leaks suggest that new Vanguards are on the way, and one of them is Hive. But who exactly is Hive, and what kind of role will he play in Marvel Rivals? Let’s dive in and explore what we know so far.
Who is Hive in Marvel?
First appeared in Secret Warriors #2, Hive is a terrifying creation born from Hydra’s experiments, a collective of intelligent parasites that can possess human hosts and act as one powerful entity.

Over time, Hive evolved from a swarm into a single humanoid form after merging with a host, gaining intelligence and speech. In the comics, Hive served loyally on the High Council of Hydra, making him a major threat to anyone who stands in Hydra's way.
Believe it or not, Hive is already in Marvel Rivals, but not as a hero you can play. You can spot him as a cool background display inside the Hydra map.
Based on his lore, his abilities are:
- Living Hive – While Hive appears humanoid, its body is made up of countless parasites. These parasites can detach and launch themselves at enemies, turning the swarm into deadly ranged projectiles.
- Resurrection/Possession – Hive has shown the ability to revive and control others, as seen when it brought Madame Hydra back to life using its parasites.
Hive Abilities and Role Leaks
Trusted Marvel Rivals leaker X0X_LEAK has shared that multiple new characters are being worked on, with Hive among them. The leak also highlights a few of his possible in-game abilities:
- Deadly Parasite
- Painful Lashing
- Accelerated Transformation

Hive is expected to join Marvel Rivals as a Vanguard, which makes sense given his background and skillset. One of his leaked abilities, Deadly Parasite, could serve as his primary ranged attack, similar to Doctor Strange’s single-target projectile.
Another ability, Painful Lashing, is likely an active skill that might include some crowd control, such as a knockback or a brief stun. Lastly, Accelerated Transformation could either be Hive’s passive or his ultimate, depending on how it’s implemented.
Hive Gameplay Prediction
Just like Armor, Hive is another teased Vanguard from the same leak who doesn’t quite fit the role of a shielding tank. Instead, he seems more suited to be a self-reliant powerhouse, strong, painful to face, and able to absorb heavy damage, much like Thor.
He’s likely to be a ranged Vanguard, similar to Doctor Strange, but with a stronger focus on dealing damage and possibly crowd control.

One of the most exciting possibilities for Hive’s ultimate, based on his lore, could involve resurrection in some form. Here are a couple of ideas that could add a unique twist to his gameplay:
- Hive releases a swarm of parasites into a target area, dealing continuous damage over time. Enemies who die within this zone could be temporarily resurrected as AI-controlled allies, or perhaps transformed into parasite turrets that slow and damage opponents.
- If Hive dies while his ultimate is active, he can instantly revive at the spot of death, unleashing an AoE blast and transforming into a more powerful form for a short duration.
When Will Hive Release?
Hive probably won’t be released anytime soon, likely not until around Season 5. Several other characters are already in development and are more likely to arrive first, such as Ultron in Season 2.5, and Blade or Professor X potentially in Season 3.
Fans are also expecting popular heroes like Jean Grey, Deadpool, or Daredevil to be introduced sooner than Hive or other recently leaked characters. Of course, these are just predictions, so take them with a grain of salt.
That’s all the info and predictions we’ve got for now! I’ll be sure to keep this page updated when new leaks or official details drop. Either way, Hive looks like a seriously exciting new Vanguard coming to Marvel Rivals.
