New Map
Season 8 introduces Alchemax Headquarters, a new Doom Match map launching after the May 28th update.
New Accessories
Season 8 adds a new batch of accessories for the following heroes:
- Devil Dinosaur
- The Thing
- Black Widow
- Angela
- Hela
- Namor
- The Punisher
All accessories are available with the Season 8 update.
College Student Exclusive Rewards
A new collection of 10 costumes and MVP animations for verified college student players. University students can verify with their education email to unlock these benefits.
Team-Up Changes in Marvel Rivals Season 8
One new team-up ability is being added:
New Team-Ups in Season 8
- Primal Punishment (Devil Dinosaur and The Punisher)
Devil Dinosaur acts as the anchor here. The Punisher can choose to mount up by accepting the interaction prompt, allowing him to ride on Devil Dinosaur’s back. While mounted, The Punisher is limited to using his normal attacks and Scourge Grenade, with all other abilities temporarily unavailable. In return, he gains damage reduction during the ride, and a portion of all damage taken and healing received is shared directly with Devil Dinosaur.
Marvel Rivals Season 8 Hero Balance Updates
Vanguard Changes
Emma Frost is getting major buffs:
- Telepathic Pulse now decays more slowly after reaching full energy
- The cooldown for re-projecting Mind’s Aegis has been reduced
- Diamond Form now provides a higher percentage of damage reduction
- The Thing will be receiving a buff to his maximum health.
- Vanguard Deadpool's gun form will receive nerfs. (Changes weren't discussed)
Duelist Changes
- Iron Fist — Striking enemies with Jeet Kune Do now reduces the cooldown of Dragon’s Defense by a greater amount.
- Mister Fantastic's crowd control capabilities are being nerfed however his overall damage and defenses are being buffed. (Changes weren't discussed)
- Star-Lord, Wolverine, Squirrel Girl, Moon Knight, and Spider-Man will also get buffs however they weren't outlined in the Dev Vision.
Strategist Changes
- Invisible Woman's crowd control abilities are being nerfed. (Changes weren't discussed)
- Mantis' damage-boosting buff is receiving a small nerf however she is getting a new baseline movement speed buff.
- The ultimates of Rocket Raccoon and White Fox are both being buffed. (Changes weren't discussed)
