Are you having fun with the addition of the Fantastic Four family and new maps in Marvel Rivals? Well, the fun is only just starting as we approach Season 2. Many players are eagerly awaiting the new heroes to be introduced in the upcoming season. While there is still little to no official information about the details, new heroes and other leaks have surfaced. We’ll discuss them here, along with what to expect.
When is Marvel Rivals Season 2 Coming Out?
Based on the in-game countdown timer, Marvel Rivals Season 2 will likely launch on April 11, 2025. This date will also mark the end of the Season 1 Battle Pass and Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure, so you should finish collecting any remaining rewards before they become legacy items.
Slightly different than Season 1, the new season will kick off with a new playable character rather than two. While NetEase hasn't officially announced who these characters will be, the rumor mill has been working overtime with speculation.
Marvel Rivals Season 2 New Heroes Prediction

Several characters have been leaked as potential additions to the Marvel Rivals roster. The most likely candidates for Season 2 include:
- Blade: Already appearing in the game as an NPC prisoner in the Empire Of Eternal Night: Central Park map, Blade seems ready to break free and join the playable roster.
- Ultron: Mentioned in leaks since December, Ultron has appeared on official merchandise. According to datamined information, he might be a Strategist class hero who uses drones to support allies.
- Emma Frost: With in-game references to the Hellfire Gala storyline from Marvel Comics, Emma Frost could be joining soon. She's often a central figure in the Hellfire Gala events.
Other characters rumored for future seasons include Captain Marvel, Angela, Jean Grey, Deadpool, and a long list of X-Men heroes like Cyclops, Gambit, Rogue, and Nightcrawler.
My prediction is that the first new hero will not be a Duelist, meaning it won’t be Blade. It makes more sense to introduce a new Vanguard or Strategist to further balance the roles. So, I would say that either Emma Frost or Ultron will be the first to be introduced.

However, Emma Frost seems more likely, as the new season will likely be themed around the Hellfire Gala, based on the in-game comic teaser mentioning that Doctor Doom is “attending a certain Gala.”
Then, Blade will be the added hero in the mid-season. It makes sense to include him in the game, especially after the obvious in-game teaser in the Eternal Night Falls New York map. With Dracula defeated, Blade will be free from his chains and able to walk again—this time as a playable hero.
What's New in Marvel Rivals Season 2?

While specifics about Season 2 content remain scarce, however, some interesting details have emerged:
- The season may be themed around the Hellfire Gala from Marvel Comics, an annual event where the mutant nation of Krakoa opens its doors to celebrate.
- New maps possibly featuring Krakoa and Arakko (the terraformed Mars) might be added to the game.
- Doctor Doom, who has been featured prominently in marketing materials, could potentially become the villain in this season.
- A new Battle Pass with fresh skins and rewards will launch with the season.
- Buffs and nerfs
It's worth noting that Season 1 was described by developers as having "roughly double the content of a regular season." This suggests Season 2 might be more modest in scope, with possibly just two new characters total rather than the four that were added in Season 1.
As the April 11 possible launch date approaches, NetEase will likely reveal more official details about Season 2. Until then, you can enjoy the remaining time in Season 1 and prepare for the exciting new content coming to Marvel Rivals.
