New Hero in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5
The introduction of new playable heroes is the main reason fans are buzzing with excitement. Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 is set to bring Ultron into the spotlight as the newest playable character. He’ll be joining the roster as a Strategist, and what sets him apart is his ability to take to the skies, introducing a brand-new aerial mechanic for the role.
Based on the trailer, Ultron’s primary attack will be the Encephalo-Ray, a powerful burning energy beam with no range limit. He'll also have Dynamic Flight, a skill that allows him to freely fly around the map.
What’s really exciting is his unique healing mechanic. Ultron will have a skill called Imperative: Patch, where he commands a drone to follow an ally and provide constant healing to anyone within its range. This offers a fresh way to support the team, especially flankers and divers, without needing to stop and actively heal. No more Spider-Man spamming that healing button every few seconds!

New Arakko Map in Season 2.5
In addition to the new Strategist, Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 will also introduce a brand-new map: Arakko. Staying true to the Krakoa theme, Arakko will serve as a Convoy map. While there’s still very little information about its design or layout, more details are expected to surface soon. Once they do, this section will be updated as quickly as possible.

New Skins in Season 2.5

A big update wouldn’t be complete without fresh costumes! Ultron will be introduced along with a new skin, X-Tron. Alongside it, Groot will also have a new Legendary skin, Yggroot, that looks incredibly menacing and cool!

Other than Yggroot and X-Tron and Combat Chest rewards, we can also look forward to new skins inspired by the Infinity Comics. We've already seen the release of the Squirrel Sunshine skin, which was previously teased in the comics, so it's safe to expect more on the way, including new looks for Doctor Strange, Magik, Iron Fist, and others!

Other than that, we can also expect to see more Skin Customization options in Season 2.5.
Season 2.5 Lore

With Cerebro captured, a desperate Emma Frost negotiates in secret with Doom 2099 — X-Tron's head in exchange for the excess chronal energy flooding Krakoa. But can Victor von Doom be trusted to hold up his end of the bargain?
During the fight on Arakko, Hawkeye and Iron Fist are infected with the Ultron Virus. Able to stave off the mind control thanks to the Winter Soldier's mental exercises, our heroes join Magneto and turn the tables to retrieve Cerebro.
After using Krakoa's chronal energy to defeat X-Tron, Doom 2099 double-crosses his allies and turns his newfound powers against them. But Victor made a critical error leaving Tony's resurrected Ultron alive, and the "reformed" robot lands a killing blow
Before our heroes can celebrate their victory, Adam Warlock is alerted to the reemergence of the demiurge Knull. If the group is to stand a chance against one of the primal forces of the universe, they'll need to recruit one of their own...
This storyline opens up the possibility of Jean Grey being included in the game, as Phoenix is probably the demiurge mentioned in the lore. The other hero that has the chance to be introduced is Captain Marvel, as she has a lot of connection to Klyntar (there are also easter-egg sprays that hint toward Captain Marvel in the current Klyntar map.)
That’s everything we know so far about Marvel Rivals Season 2.5. We’ll keep this article updated with any new official information as soon as it becomes available.
