K’un-Lun Heart of Heaven Map Guide: Tips, Strategy & Layout

Season 4 of Marvel Rivals introduced a new map called Heart of Heaven, and it's set in the mystical city of K'un-Lun. If you're wondering how to play this map better, you're in the right place. This guide breaks down everything you need to know about the layout, which heroes work best here, and some solid strategies to help you win more games.

Map Type: Convergence

Heart of Heaven is a Convergence map. That means it is a combination of a capture point and a payload system; you'll be fighting over a central point that moves around as the match goes on. The map looks amazing with all the temples, gardens, and dragon statues, but don't let that fool you. This place has a lot going on tactically.

The story behind it is pretty cool, too. The dragon Shou-Lao fell asleep, leaving K'un-Lun vulnerable. Doctor Doom wants to steal the dragon's power, and Iron Fist is trying to stop him. That's why everyone's fighting here.

Map Layout: Key Areas You Need to Know

First Capture Area

The first capture area is where the first big fights will take place. This zone already features numerous openings, tunnels, and fog of war. However, there are only two small entry points for attackers to push through. This can be taken advantage of by choke point holders like Peni Parker or The Punisher, making it easier to hold a strong defense.

You'll see a lot of team fights here. If you can grab the high ground on the balconies around the plaza, you'll have a huge advantage. Make use of the high roofs to hide and attack or heal without the enemies noticing.

First Checkpoint

This is where things get tight. This is a temple area with shorter sightlines and lots of corners. It's perfect for close-range heroes. Watch out for people hiding in doorways because there are tons of places to set up ambushes.

This is where the verticality factor comes into play. There’s a bridge in the middle and tunnels all around, making it a great spot to start flanking. This area is where flankers like Black Panther, Psylocke, Star-Lord, or Iron Fist shine the most.

The Triple Choke Point Area

After the first checkpoint, attackers will have to push the Tablet of Iron Fist through a series of tight corners, with doors all around. This section is the most crucial part of the map. If the defenders set up a strong choke point defense, the attacking team will be in serious trouble.

There’s also a ledge here where heroes like Invisible Woman or Angela can shine by knocking enemies off the map.

The Palace of the Dragon King

After the tight corners, the final battleground is the Palace of the Dragon King. This last area is truly a team-fight zone. Battles will erupt in the middle of the open space, with pagodas and half-walls providing cover.

It’s crucial to have Ultimates ready here, as both teams will go all out in this final phase. Close-range heroes like Magik, Blade, Captain America, and Thor work especially well in this area.

The Verticality Factor

This map has multiple levels everywhere. There are balconies, hidden paths below the main areas, and elevated spots all over the place. If you like playing mobile heroes, this is your playground.

Characters who can fly or climb will dominate here. You can attack from angles people don't expect, reposition quickly, and control the high ground. That vertical movement is honestly one of the biggest advantages you can have on this map.

The Fog Mechanic Changes Everything

Here's something unique: fog rolls in during certain parts of the match. When it does, you can't see as far. This completely changes how you need to play.

Long-range heroes struggle when the fog comes in. But heroes with abilities that reveal enemy positions become super valuable. If you're playing someone with recon abilities, your team will thank you when that fog hits.

Best Heroes for Heart of Heaven

The best heroes for this map are those with great mobility and strong performance in tight hallways. For Vanguards, Groot and Angela stand out. Groot can easily block enemy healing with his walls in narrow spaces, while Angela has the best mobility among Vanguards and can impale enemies off cliffs with ease.

The Punisher is especially effective on this map. Thanks to his zipline, he has excellent mobility, making him deadly at both long and close range. Most importantly, he can see enemy outlines even through the fog of war. Black Panther is also a strong pick, as this map is a paradise for high-mobility flankers.

For Strategists, Cloak & Dagger and Rocket Raccoon are top choices. Both can move vertically with ease, and their healing abilities can bounce, which is a huge advantage in the tight corners and choke points that dominate this map.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't ignore the verticality. A lot of players forget to look up or down. Always check those balconies and lower paths, or you'll get caught off guard.
  • Don't overextend in the fog. When you can't see far, pushing alone is asking for trouble. Fall back to your team and regroup.
  • Don't fight on the ledges unless you have to. It's cool to get environmental kills, but you can also get knocked off easily. Position carefully when you're near edges.

Heart of Heaven is one of the best maps in Marvel Rivals right now. It looks great, plays well, and the fog mechanic keeps things interesting. The verticality opens up so many possibilities, and there's real depth to learn here.

Take some time to explore the map. Try different heroes and see which ones click for you. Learn those flank routes and figure out where the strong positions are. The more you play it, the more you'll discover.
