The Grand Garden map is a new 18v18 Annihilation map introduced in Marvel Rivals Season 5 to celebrate their first anniversary. The Grandmaster and Gardener cordially invite all looking to experience the ultimate battle unfold in the Grand Garden. As all manner of heroes trace their way through the gateway, the history of the garden begins to unfold its magic.
Map Type: Annihilation
The Grand Garden is an Annihilation map where two teams of 18 players face off in a large-scale, all-out battle. The goal is to reach 120 eliminations to win the match. With little to no respawn time, this mode becomes chaotic, but also incredibly fun!
Map Layout
The Grand Garden is a large map with several distinct combat areas. Its design is magical and elegant, filled with snow-white structures, bright blue and purple lighting, and an overall mystical atmosphere that reflects the Grandmaster’s power.
Spawn Area
Entering the match or respawning after death will place you in the spawn area. This section is a long platform with four different doors, each leading to the main battlefield. There are two health packs available on the starting platform, and each door hallway also has its own health-pack location.
The next platforms are connected by bridges and doors, so moving safely to the other side is not an issue.
You typically won’t encounter chaotic fights in this area. Occasionally, enemy flankers like Black Panther or Psylocke may roam around, but they’re usually not a major threat. Since this is your team’s spawn zone, players often respawn in groups of five to eight, which can quickly overwhelm any lone flanker.
Middle Area
Passing through the second door of the spawn area takes you into the middle section. This is where most of the chaotic fighting happens, so be prepared. In the center, you’ll find a large fountain that you can enter to reach the basement. On one side, there’s the chessboard platform with tall pillars, and on the other, there’s an open garden area.
In the narrow pathways of the middle section, long-ranged burst heroes perform extremely well. Heroes like Namor, Squirrel Girl, Adam Warlock, Gambit, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight are excellent choices here.
Chess Board Platform
The chessboard platform area is where high-mobility heroes shine. Characters who can climb, fly, or sneak, such as Black Panther, Psylocke, Angela, Human Torch, and Iron Man, excel in this space due to the abundance of cover and vantage points.
There is a health pack on the highest platform, one on the middle section, and another one in the room directly beneath it. One health pack can also be found behind the platform wall. Remember these health pack spots.
The chess pieces in this area can be moved by hitting them continuously. In fact, there’s an achievement called “Lost in the Game” that requires moving these pieces in the correct order. Make sure to check out our guide for more details.
Open Garden

On the other side, there’s an open garden area with a large tree in the center. This space is often used by players who enjoy testing their aim or close-quarters combat, and you’ll frequently see 1v1 duels happening here. Heroes who reward precise aim, such as Hela, The Punisher, Star-Lord, and Black Widow, tend to dominate this zone.
Close-range heroes like Magik, Blade, Wolverine, and Black Panther also perform well here. There are three health packs in this area, so keep these spots in mind whenever you feel overwhelmed.
Jeff the Land Shark also shines in this area thanks to the open ledge on the side, allowing him to spit enemies to their deaths with ease.

A platform here also rises to the top of the central fountain, making it an excellent vantage point for snipers to pick off enemies. Additionally, there’s a hidden health pack inside the small fountain, useful when you’re being chased and need a quick heal.
Basement Area
Heading down from the middle fountain, the chess platform’s hidden room, or the garden stairs will lead you to the basement area. This section is a long, narrow hallway with two health-pack spawns, making it a great spot for close- to mid-range heroes.
Blade and Namor are especially deadly here. Blade’s ultimate can slice through enemies in a straight line, and with so little space to dodge, it becomes incredibly dangerous. Namor, supported by his minions, can turn the basement into a fortified zone that’s difficult for enemies to break through.
Inside the room with the Gardener’s portrait, you’ll find an Alligator Loki sitting in front of it. This ties into the “Grand Garden Gator” achievement, check out our guide to learn how to complete it.
