Howard the Duck, one of the least expected characters, has been leaked to be in development for Marvel Rivals. However, many players and fans are speculating whether he will be a future playable character or simply an asset. Nevertheless, here’s everything you need to know about the Howard the Duck leaks.
Marvel Rivals Howard the Duck Leaks
A trusted Marvel Rivals dataminer, X0X_LEAK, posted a tweet on X, revealing a voiceline from Human Torch, which seems to interact with a new possible character, Howard the Duck.
In this leaked voice line interaction, we can hear Human Torch saying:
- "Easy, we're up against some real heavy hitters. One wrong move, and our goose is cooked."
- "Either way, I bet you'll roast up real nice. Keep quacking, and you'll find out soon enough."
Is Howard a Hero, or an Asset?

Based on the leaked voice line interaction, it seems most likely that Howard the Duck is an asset that the Marvel Rivals roster must either deliver or defend. When Torch mentions they are up against heavy hitters and that one wrong move could endanger the “goose,” it suggests the team is trying to prevent enemies from harming Howard. This sounds very much like a payload-style interaction.
The second voice line, where Torch says the goose will “roast up real nice,” appears to come from the opposing side, implying that the objective is to stop the payload, in this case, Howard.
While still unconfirmed, it is reasonable to assume that Howard the Duck will serve as an asset in a future Convoy or Convergence map.
The Collector or Knowhere Possible Theme

One of the most exciting theories tied to this leak is the possibility of seeing The Collector or a Knowhere-themed map in the near future. Howard the Duck is famously known as a resident specimen of Knowhere, kept under the watch of the enigmatic Taneleer Tivan, also known as The Collector.
The newly leaked voice line interaction strongly suggests a Convoy or Convergence map centered around Knowhere, where players may be tasked with delivering or rescuing Howard the Duck from The Collector himself.
Another existing hint toward Knowhere can already be found in the game. When playing on Throne of Knull, Rocket Raccoon makes a quip: “It’s kinda like bein’ on Knowhere… but without any of the good parts…”

Knowhere is a base formed from the millennia-old decaying head of a Celestial, decapitated by Knull, who also happens to be the main villain of the current Marvel Rivals season. Introducing Knowhere into the game could also open the door for new heroes to make their debut.
Characters Connected to Knowhere
Several characters are tied to Knowhere in the comics. For example, Nova has defended the base on multiple occasions, while Forge, a mutant already leaked to be in development, has also had multiple interactions with Knowhere.
Another strong candidate is Polaris, Magneto’s daughter, who has appeared in Knowhere-related storylines. Notably, Polaris has already been teased in-game through an accessory, as revealed in the Season 4 roadmap, further fueling speculation about her arrival.
That’s everything we know so far about Howard the Duck and his leaks in Marvel Rivals. What do you think, will he join the roster as a playable character, or simply appear as an asset in the game?
