“Sleepwalker will be the next hero in Season 7,” Deadpool teased in Marvel Rivals Season 6, casually dropping what seems like a spoiler. Since then, many players have been asking the same question: Who is Sleepwalker? In this article, you’ll find everything you need to know about Sleepwalker, including his comic origins and how he could potentially play in Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals Sleepwalker Leaks
If you’ve been playing Deadpool in Season 6, chances are you’ve heard him blurt out a “spoiler,” saying: “Spoiler alert! Next Season’s new characters are Speedball and Sleepwalker.” While this sounds like a major tease, remember, Deadpool is also the world’s biggest troll.
That said, it’s not impossible for Sleepwalker to be added to Marvel Rivals. His powers fit surprisingly well in a hero shooter setting, and NetEase has already featured him in Marvel Mystic Mayhem, proving the character is on their radar.
So, who exactly is Sleepwalker, and what can he do?
Sleepwalker Abilities and Role Prediction
Sleepwalker is a dream police officer who got trapped in the mind of a college student named Rick Sheridan. When Rick sleeps, Sleepwalker can appear in the real world to fight. Based on his comic lore, Sleepwalker can either be a Vanguard or a Strategist. Here's why.
*Note that these are all predictions based on Marvel lore.
Warp Gaze

This is Sleepwalker’s primary ability. By focusing on physical objects, he can twist and reshape them at will. In the comics, he has bent sidewalks to trap criminals, warped bullets mid-air, and distorted solid structures to gain the upper hand.
In Marvel Rivals, this power could translate perfectly into a Vanguard kit. He could distort the environment into impenetrable shields or reshape debris into a massive claw to grab, stun, or even throw enemies.
On the other hand, Warp Gaze could also fit a Strategist role. Instead of using objects offensively, he could transform nearby materials into protective armor that wraps around allies, reducing incoming damage and strengthening team defenses.
Superhuman Durability

Sleepwalker can withstand incredible amounts of damage without getting hurt. He can survive being crushed by falling buildings, grenade explosions, and even punches from Hercules that send him crashing through walls. His body is highly resistant to both physical attacks and energy blasts.
His physical durability also translates perfectly into a Vanguard role in Marvel Rivals. He could have a passive ability that increases his damage resistance or grants bonus shields, making him significantly harder to take down during prolonged fights.
Superhuman Vision
Sleepwalker's eyes can see far beyond human limits. He can spot a single unusual car from high in the sky, track supersonic bullets as they fly, and even see invisible things like ghosts and astral projections.
In Marvel Rivals, several heroes can turn invisible, including Psylocke, Invisible Woman, and Loki. With his ability to see invisible entities, Sleepwalker could serve as a natural counter to these characters.
Flight

Sleepwalker can fly through the air with a floating-like movement that's fast enough to chase down speeding cars. He can make himself go even faster by using his Warp Gaze to create a wind tunnel around himself.
Marvel Rivals Sleepwalker Gameplay Prediction
With the abilities mentioned above, Sleepwalker could fit either the Vanguard or Strategist role in Marvel Rivals.
As a Vanguard, he could serve as a much-needed shielding tank. The last true shielding tank introduced was Emma Frost in Season 2, so the roster could definitely use another defensive frontline option. With Warp Gaze, he could form shields that protect both himself and nearby allies.
Sleepwalker can also fly, and being able to create shields while airborne would be a first for Marvel Rivals. This would allow him to protect flying allies mid-air, adding a completely new dynamic to aerial team fights.

As a Strategist, Warp Gaze could instead be used to create protective armor that wraps around allies, reducing incoming damage. His reality-warping powers could also translate into healing abilities. In Marvel Mystic Mayhem, he was able to heal allies using mental energy, so that concept could easily carry over into Marvel Rivals.
Either way, Sleepwalker should absolutely retain two core abilities: flight and the ability to see invisible characters. Currently, Daredevil is the only hero who can naturally detect invisible enemies. Adding another counter to stealth, especially in the Vanguard or Strategist category, would greatly improve team composition diversity and balance.
When Will Sleepwalker Release?
With the “spoiler” from Deadpool, Sleepwalker is said to be the new character in Season 7. However, considering Deadpool’s reputation as a troll, the chances of that actually being true are really 50/50.
Season 6’s Gallery Card teased characters like Black Cat and White Fox, which strongly suggests they may become playable heroes in Season 7.
With several other heroes seemingly lined up ahead of him, Sleepwalker’s release is more likely to happen later in the roadmap. Since there are currently no leaks or datamined files related to him, it’s only logical not to expect his arrival this year.
That’s everything you need to know so far about Sleepwalker in Marvel Rivals. We’ll update this page with more leaks or official details as soon as new information becomes available.
