Marvel Rivals has exciting new upcoming content, including new Heroes, new Maps, Events, and more changes that will be introduced. It is even more exciting to find out what will come in the mid-season and future seasons. Let's talk more about what you can expect in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 through Season 4, including the release date speculation and leaks.
Marvel Rivals Season 3 Release Date and New Content Leaks
Since Season 1, the timing for the release of the mid-season was 6 weeks, and for the new season, it took 7 weeks. Season 1 was released on January 10, and Season 1.5 was released exactly 6 weeks from it, on February 21.
Based on the in-game countdown of Season 2.5 events and the end date of the Season 2 BattlePass, Marvel Rivals Season 3 is set to release on July 11, 2025, 6 weeks apart from Season 2.5.
NetEase has also announced that they are planning to shorten the season duration starting from Season 3. Instead of 3 months, Marvel Rivals will have a new season every 2 months, meaning there will be a new playable character 1 month after the season launch.
Season 3 Leaks

Is Blade coming in Season 3? If you've been hoping for his arrival, it might be time to manage those expectations. The Season 3 lore appears to have been revealed through the in-game comics, suggesting that the upcoming season will revolve around Klyntar and the demiurge Knull.
"Before our heroes can celebrate their victory, Adam Warlock is alerted to the reemergence of the demiurge Knull. If the group is to stand a chance against one of the primal forces of the universe, they'll need to recruit one of their own…"
This heavily contradicts earlier speculation about Blade joining in Season 3. Instead, the narrative strongly points toward Phoenix (Jean Grey) being the next addition. As a cosmic entity and a primal force in the Marvel universe, Phoenix fits the lore far more closely, making her a more likely candidate for Season 3 than Blade.
Aside from a new character, of course, NetEase will also include a new Battle Pass for Season 3.
Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Release Date Speculation and Leaks
If the season duration stands at only 2 months starting from Season 3, the mid-season will be just one month in. This means that Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 will likely launch on August 11, 2025, only one month after the season start.
Season 3.5 Leaks

As Season 3 is likely to revolve around the Klyntar theme, it's possible that Captain Marvel could be introduced in Season 3.5. Captain Marvel has long been connected to Kree-Klyntar storylines in the comics, so her arrival during this arc wouldn’t be far-fetched.
In the current Klyntar map, players have already discovered a subtle easter egg, a couple of sprays that appear to reference Captain Marvel, hinting at her potential future appearance.
Based on the release pattern in Season 2 and 2.5, where Emma Frost and Ultron were introduced respectively, it’s likely that Season 3 will follow a similar format, with only one mutant hero being released. This strengthens the theory that Jean Grey (Phoenix) may be the main highlight of Season 3, while Captain Marvel could follow in Season 3.5 as part of the cosmic expansion.
Marvel Rivals Season 4 Release Date Speculation and Leaks
Following the changed timeline for the updates, Season 4 of Marvel Rivals would likely be released on September 11, 2025.

There is not much we know about Season 4 for now. However, there are a lot of leaks revealing new characters that are planned to be introduced in future seasons of Marvel Rivals.
One character that has high potential to be added in Season 4, either at the start or mid-season, is Professor X. Thanks to the Krakoa map teaser in Season 2, we can spot a statue of Professor X, hinting at his future arrival. Further strengthening this theory, recent leaks have surfaced revealing his potential skill set, making it more likely that the powerful telepath will soon join the roster.
You can check Professor X's leaks and gameplay predictions in more detail here.

What’s particularly interesting is the second half of Season 4, which is set for October 11, 2025, right in time for the Halloween season. It would be the perfect moment to finally release Blade, who has long been teased by the developers.
Blade has already been spotted wandering around the maps as a subtle easter egg, and he will likely continue to appear like this for the next few months, building anticipation for his actual release. The timing, the theme, and the build-up all seem to align perfectly for his debut.
Blade will likely be another Duelist who excels at close-range combat and flanking enemies. His leaked abilities are:
- Passive: Bloodline Liberation – Allows Blade to see enemies through walls, though the trigger condition is currently unknown.
- Stomp and Slash – Main attacking skill that deals high burst damage with his katana.
- The Dark Knight Attack – Dash strike used for closing distance or retreating; may or may not deal damage.
- Fang Deflect – Defensive skill that deflects incoming ranged attacks using his katana.
- Ultimate: New Moon – Transforms Blade into his full vampire form, enhancing stats and possibly unlocking new abilities, likely with lifesteal effects.
Other leaked characters who are expected to appear in Season 4 or later include:
- Daredevil
- Cyclops
- Angela
- Deadpool
- Hit-Monkey
- MODOK
- The Hood (possibly Ghost Rider)
- Colossus
- Nightcrawler
- Gambit
