Lore
Thor: You spar with style and grace, sister. I am impressed.
Angela: And you are a reckless and impulsive fighter, brother. With moves like that, 'tis no wonder you have yet to reclaim the throne of Yggsgard from Loki.
Thor: Oh? Come then, child of Heven, and tell Thor how to harness his own thunder... if you dare...
Angela: Harness it? Nay. I would rather use my Ichors to redirect it back at you... like so!
Thor: Astounding! This liquid metal of yours... can it take any form?
Angela: Indeed... though I have always found a spear perfectly effective. As you just learned firsthand.
Thor: Hmm... Another Thor once wielded a similar weapon changing shape on a whim. It was called Undrjarn, I believe...
Angela: There... was another Thor...?
Thor: Indeed! A select few have proven worthy enough to bear my name. I could introduce you, if you wish...
Angela: Nay. One Thor is more than enough for me, brother!
Divine Armory Guide
In this Team-Up, Angela stands as the anchor, granting Thor the ability to borrow her Ichor energy and throw a Thunder Spear that deals damage and restores Thorforce upon hitting an enemy. Afterward, Thor can leap to the spear’s impact point, unleashing an AoE shockwave that damages all nearby enemies.
This Team-Up is a massive boost to Thor’s already powerful kit, Season 4 practically feels like it’s babysitting Thor. While Angela receives the damage reduction bonus as the anchor, the real spotlight of this Team-Up shines on the God of Thunder himself.
Thor can throw a Thunder Spear using his Team-Up ability button, dealing damage and restoring Thorforce on hit. The skill is incredibly strong as an engage tool, with a cooldown of 30 seconds, making it better suited for initiating fights or chasing down enemies rather than safely repositioning.
The spear’s throw range is longer than Thor’s Shift skill, making it a much better option for chasing enemies or initiating team fights from a distance.
What makes this ability even stronger is the follow-up leap Thor can perform toward the spear’s impact point, unleashing an AoE shockwave that damages all nearby enemies on landing.
With a 30-second cooldown, however, you need to carefully consider when to throw the spear. Don’t waste it by tossing it without being able to follow up. Positioning and timing are key, know your targets and priorities, and avoid diving or chasing blindly.
Best Against
Divine Armory is best against mid-range DPS and backliners:
Initiating the spear throw on midline DPS is often the best play, as they are usually squishy targets. Landing the initial spear damage followed by the AoE shockwave can devastate heroes like Hela, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, or Squirrel Girl.
Wreaking havoc in the enemy backline is also a strong option, especially if you already have a positional advantage. Catching their healers off guard with this combo can easily swing a fight in your team’s favor.
Best Counters
These are the best heroes to counter Divine Armory Team-Up:
Groot and Peni Parker are excellent counters to Thor’s aggressive play with this Team-Up. Groot can cut off Thor’s sustain by blocking his path with walls, while Peni can protect the mid and backline with her mines.
Wolverine is always a strong pick against Vanguard heroes, and Strategists like Invisible Woman, Luna Snow, and Mantis can shut down or interrupt Thor’s engages with their crowd control skills.
