Sword of Duality

Cloak & Dagger share light and dark energy with Hawkeye and Psylocke. When Hawkeye uses Crescent Slash, he also releases a blade wave that heals and boosts healing for teammates, while inflicting damage and Vulnerability on enemies. Psylocke can launch a Light Boomerang Dart that heals allies, harms enemies, and provides her with temporary healing upon return. She can also unleash a ring of Dark Darts that slow enemies while she briefly enters a Phased state

Sword of Duality was introduced in Season 5 of Marvel Rivals and updated in Season 5.5.

Lore

"Thought Daredevil said he took all of these Hand losers out already," Cloak said as he enveloped several red-clad ninjas in the darkness of his body.
"In his own timeline, maybe," Dagger replied, hurling Lightforce projectiles at another wave of oncoming Hand warriors. "But this reality is clearly still teeming with them."
"Well, we're not gonna last much longer against 'em," Hawkeye said, gesturing toward the quiver on his back. "I'm all outta arrows... which means we are officially outnumbered."
"Outnumbered," Psylocke responded. "But not outmatched. Unless the tales you've told us about your skills with a sword have been exaggerated..."
Hawkeye grabbed the hilt of his katana and unsheathed it, its silver blade catching a glint of moonlight as he brought it to attack position.
"I guess I could go full Ronin for a while," Hawkeye said, remembering the brief time he wore a different costume and used another name. "But as good as I am with the ol' slice and dice, I'm not sure I stand a chance against neverending horde of magic ninjas with the power to come back from the dead."
"Maybe we can help you with that," Dagger suggested. "If Cloak and I channel our powers into your sword, Ty's Darkforce might be able to suppress the Hand's mystical ability to regenerate."
"So, once we take 'em down," Cloak said, "they'll stay down."
"And my Lightforce could give the rest of us a much needed boost along the way," Dagger added.
"So it'll help us regain our strength AND weaken our enemies?" Hawkeye asked. "Sounds perfect. Too perfect. What's the catch?"
"Well, it's just a theory so far," Dagger admitted. "We've never actually tested it on anyone else and don't know what will happen."
"Whatever it does," Hawkeye said with a shrug, "it's gotta be better than this."
"And if it is a success," Psylocke added, "I will gladly be next in line for an upgrade!"

Sword of Duality Guide

Hawkeye

In this Team-Up, Cloak & Dagger act as the anchor, granting Hawkeye the ability to enhance his katana slash with light and dark energy. When Hawkeye uses his Crescent slash, it knocks enemies back and fires an energy wave that passes through both allies and enemies. The wave heals and buffs teammates while damaging enemies and applying anti-heal.

Primary Targets

The main targets while this Team-Up is active are enemy Duelists or Vanguards who are diving your backline. This ability is perfect for protecting your fellow Strategists and Duelists when they're being attacked. You can slash the diving enemy to knock them back (however, the knockback is really small) while providing extra healing to your teammates and applying anti-heal to the attacker, making it harder for them to survive the fight.

Best Against

Sword of Duality is best used against diving Duelists or Vanguards:

Best Counters

The best counters to Sword of Duality are ranged characters who can maintain distance from Hawkeye. Both flying and ground-based ranged heroes who stay far away are natural counters to this ability. Since they don't come within range of Hawkeye's empowered katana slash, they won't be affected by the anti-heal debuff.

Psylocke

With this Team-Up ability, Psylocke gains a more adaptive playstyle, allowing her to shift between a supportive or aggressive role. When the Team-Up is activated, Psylocke can choose one of two available skills, depending on the situation.

The first option is the Returning Shuriken. This skill heals allies and damages enemies, while also healing Psylocke based on the number of targets hit. It works best during team clashes, especially when positioned behind your frontliner. Use it to sustain your tank while contributing extra damage to enemies in front. This option leans heavily toward a support-focused playstyle.

The second option enables a much more aggressive approach. Dark Dagger launches daggers around Psylocke, damaging nearby enemies and immediately placing her into invisibility. This skill is best used as a follow-up combo when flanking enemy backliners, allowing Psylocke to disengage or reposition safely after dealing burst damage.

Best Counters

Daredevil is the best counter to this Team-Up skill, and to Psylocke in particular. Thanks to his heightened senses, Daredevil can track and pressure Psylocke even while she’s invisible, allowing him to shut her down before she can fully execute her combo.

Meanwhile, Gambit and Blade are strong counters to her Returning Shuriken option. Both heroes can apply anti-heal effects, significantly reducing or completely negating the self-healing Psylocke gains from hitting multiple targets. This makes her far less effective in prolonged fights and limits her ability to sustain herself during engagements.
