Lore

Human Torch: Mmmm. They say we're NYC's greatest heroes, but I honestly think that title should go to the city's hot dog vendors!
Thing: Finally, somethin' we can agree on. It ain't exactly health food, but I won't tell Suzie if you don't.
Human Torch: Deal.Though it's hard to hide anyThing from my sis. She tends to see right through us.
Thing: Ha! Good one! But you're right. We don't get away with nuthin' anymore. Between her and Reed —
Mister Fantastic: Johnny ? Ben ? Come in !
Human Torch: You just had to say his name out loud…
Thing: Oops.What's the matter, Stretcho?
Mister Fantastic: We've got another crisis of Multiversal proportions. I need you back at the Baxter Building now!
Thing: You heard the fella, hot shot.Time to head home. How about a lift?
Human Torch: Fine. But suddenly I'm wishing you'd ordered a few less hot dogs, Benjy Boy…
Thing: Yeah, yeah.Laugh it up, matchstick.Just don't drop me, unless you wanna take out half a city block!
Human Torch: I'll do my best… but, come to think of it, that might actually come in handy some day…

First Steps Guide

Human Torch is the anchor in this team-up, helping The Thing fly to new spots on the map. When you use this team-up, Human Torch helps The Thing fly through the air before landing with an impact. When he lands, it does area damage that throws enemies up in the air and leaves behind a damage area that stays on the ground and disables mobility abilities.

This ability opens up various possibilities for The Thing to start team fights from different angles. The team-up works well for starting fights, breaking up enemy groups, and especially reaching enemy backlines.

This synergy doesn't just benefit The Thing, it also boosts Human Torch. With this team-up, Human Torch’s flying speed increases, slightly surpassing the boost from his own speed ability. This allows the duo to operate much faster, making them highly effective at chasing enemies, retreating, or quickly assisting teammates.

The best scenario to use this team-up is when initiating a capture point fight or chasing enemy backliners. Just make sure both Human Torch and The Thing focus on the same priority target, concentrating all their attacks. When coordinated properly, this combo can be devastating for the enemy team.

Best Against

This team-up is definitely built to give enemy backliners a hard clobberin’ time. With the ability to quickly soar over the frontline and divebomb The Thing onto the backline, they can cause massive disruption, forcing enemies to reposition or distracting support heroes from healing.

Best Counters

It’s still unconfirmed whether this team-up can be disabled while active. If they can be interrupted or stunned, then Peni Parker is the best counter, she can web them mid-air and cancel the dive. The Thing can also stop Human Torch from flying using his right-click ability. We’ll make sure to update this page once the official gameplay is released.

Groot is another great counter. Since The Thing will likely be dropped on the backline, Groot can trap him with walls, preventing healing and limiting his movement.

Namor and Punisher are excellent picks to burst down both The Thing and Human Torch mid-dive. Both heroes also have mobility skills to escape once the dive starts. Wolverine, on the other hand, welcomes the dive, if The Thing targets him, it could backfire as Wolverine turns the fight in his favor.

Luna Snow and Mantis can instantly immobilize The Thing with their stun abilities.
